After a strong 3-1 performance ATS (Against the Spread) on Thursday and Friday in College Football, your partners here at Picks4Players see some great opportunities on the Saturday slate. We encourage you to play smart and, of course, for entertainment purposes only. With that being said;
Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS in College Football for November 28th.
Again, after going 3-1 over the past 2 days, we have now gone 13-5 over the past 16 days in our college picks. Our advice continues to be absolutely “FREE,” so come ride this hot streak with us as there is always room on the P4P bandwagon.
Our pick in BOLD
SATURDAY’s SELECTIONS
Arkansas @ LSU (-3 ½)
Fans of the Bayou Bengals will have all day to get liquored up for this one, and the moonshine will be flowing. The key to this game is that LSU can stop what the Razorbacks can do best which is pass the ball. Look for an LSU double digit victory. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!!
Notre Dame @ Stanford (-10)
This will be Charlie Weis’ swan song for the Fighting Irish. Toby Gerhart and company will use their dominating ground game to wear out a weak Irish defense and get the bad taste out of their mouths from the Big Game defeat against Cal. Look for Irish QB Jimmy ‘Punching Bag’ Clausen to have a nice statistical day against Stanford as he returns to his Northern California home turf, but even his intimidating new Darth Vader mask won’t be enough. Stanford cruises late.
UCLA @ USC (-13)
USC had 2 weeks to prepare for this one and we expect to play this game as if its for a national championship. The weak UCLA offense won’t be able to exploit the Trojan defense like some other offenses have. The USC defense will create some short fields to help Matt Barkley and company. We also like under 47 1/2.
Syracuse (+12 ½) @ U Conn
Coming off the big emotional win at Notre Dame, we see a letdown for the Huskies as they play the Orange. This will be a tight one all they way and it wouldn’t shock us to see the Orange pull it out. Syracuse QB and former Duke point guard Greg Paulus will be talking smack to UConn all day about the a$$ kicking Duke delivered to UConn last night in Basketball, and it will carry over to the gridiron today.
Georgia (+7) @ Georgia Tech
The Bulldogs might be the one team that has the speed in the front 7 to contain the potent Yellow Jacket running attack. Georgia’s disappointing season could be washed away with a victory here so look for them to fight hard all the way.
Check back Sunday for our NFl picks as we look to move up in the National Handicappers Bowl as seen in Pro Football Weekly.
Enjoy the Day Players and get revved up for the NFL tomorrow and Monday!
College Football Home Stretch - Bowls are at stake and P4P has your winners- absolutely FREE!!!!!
November 14, 2009 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment
As we head down the home stretch of the college football regular season, we are finding some great value on the college lines. Many teams will be looking ahead with rivalry weekend not far away. Others will be fighting hard for bowl eligibility and some will be fighting to keep their coaches employed.
Here are P4Ps favorite college plays for Saturday, November 14th.
They are rated 1-8, with #1 being our favorite pick.
Our pick in BOLD:
Home team in CAPS:
#1) Arizona (+3) over CAL
Cal has thrown in the towel. They looked lifeless after losing Jahvid Best last weekend. Arizona controls its Rose Bowl destiny with QB Nick Foles throwing for over 300 yards per game.
#2) Tennessee (+6) over MISSISSIPPI
Monte Kiffin’s defense won’t be toting any guns this weekend but Lance’s Dad’s D will make all the difference here against a struggling Rebel offense. The Volunteers offense has improved enough to keep this within a touchdown and the elder Kiffin has made things much more difficult for offensive coordinators around the SEC. Despite being short a few felons (allegedly) this week, we still like Tennessee.
#3) OREGON STATE (-13 ½) over Washington
This is the time of year that the Beavers get hot. The line on this game has jumped 3 points this week and with good reason. Huskie QB Jake Locker will not be 100% in this game with an injured hamstring.
#4) OHIO STATE (-16) over Iowa
We seriously doubt that the Hawkeyes will find the end zone this week, missing their top running back and QB Stanzi. The Buckeye offense has come to life in the past 2 weeks. Iowa was undefeated for the first 7 weeks through a series of smoke and mirrors. They were exposed, at home, last Saturday and they will get blown out today.
#5) TCU (-20) over Utah
A huge revenge game for the Horny Frogs after losing to the Utes last year. The TCU defense has not allowed a team to score more than 18 points all year and Utah will be starting a true freshman QB.
#6) Stanford (+10 1/2) over USC
The Cardinal is one of the few teams that has shown success on USC’s home field in the past 5 years. We love getting 10+ points against a stagnat USC offense. Coach Harbaugh is solid and Stanford is a direct reflection.
#7) Michigan State @ PURDUE OVER 53
Neither team will have much success stopping the other. Both teams will reach the 30 point mark. This, along with the majority of the other Big 10 games jump right to the top of the list in the Tostiotos Who Gives a Rat’s A$$ Bowl. Lots of points is the only saving grace here.
#8) Notre Dame (+7) over PITTSBURGH
The Fighting Irish have not lost a game this year by more than 7 points. Look for them to fight hard for Chuck Weis’ job. Insert fat joke here; Charlie Weis is a winner. He wins when nobody else can, in fact, he’s the only living person to beat Gastric Bypass Surgery and actually gain weight wearing his UnderArmour gastric band……Every week we keep waiting for PITT to crumble like every Dave Wanstedt coached team, but apparently this group doesn’t see Wanstedt’s cheezy mustache as a sign of weakness or as a distraction. Don’t underestimate Wanstedt’s leadership and his ability to lead his team to an unlikely collapse at just the wrong time.

Without further ado, here are our favorite college plays for today. They are rated 1-7, with #1 being our favorite pick.
Our pick in BOLD
Home team in CAPS
#1) Ole Miss (-4) over AUBURN
Two teams going in the opposite direction. We rate this as our TOP PLAY!
#2) Kansas @ TEXAS TECH OVER 67
We prefer to take the points in this matchup of 2 teams that can’t stop each other.
#3) Michigan State (-3 1/2) over MINNESOTA
Minnesota lost it’s best WR for this game and Michigan State’s passing game should be the difference.
#4) WAKE FOREST (+7) over Miami
Love the home dog here with Miami not looking as dominant in recent weeks.
#5) OREGON STATE (-9) over ucla
UCLA is just not very good and although we think it will take a quarter for OSU to shake last weeks hangover, we think they will take care of business.
#6) Southern Cal (-3) over OREGON
Pete Carroll is flat out the best road coach in college football. USC’s speed on defense is the difference in a low scoring game.
#7) OKLAHOMA (-28) over Kansas State
This one could get ugly as the Sooners tend to dominate weak teams at home.
Did someone say cocktails?
We don’t have the Georgia-Florida matchup as one of our favorites but we will give you an opinion. Our opinion in this matchup is to take Florida -14. Too much talent on the Florida side of the ball. But beware the bye week, Georgia has had 2 weeks to get ready.

Top College football picks for Saturday, October 3rd.
HOME TEAM IN CAPS
GEORGIA -3 ½ over Lsu
There is a reason the #4 LSU Tigers are the underdog. That reason, they are just not very good. They have underachieved all year and ascended to the #4 ranking almost by default. With Florida up next on their schedule, look for LSU to peek ahead and not come with full focus in this one. Standout Georgia WR A.J. Green gets 2 TD’s today against the Bengal Tigers and the carousel that is the top 5 will continue to spin.
Florida St. -3 ½ over BOSTON COLLEGE
Florida St. goes on the road after the embarrassing loss to South Florida and they are pissed. Things were so intense at practices in Tallahassee this week that Coach Bowden had to twice replace his yellow sniper safety glasses. He’ll have on a new pair today, rain or shine on Chestnut Hill. Too much speed and power from the Seminoles for Boston College to handle. FSU’s Chris Ponder should throw for more than 300 yards in this one against a weak BC secondary. BC’s run of good fortune is over with this wake up call.
North Carolina St +2 over WAKE FOREST
The NC State offense is clicking on all cylinders, throwing for over 300 yards and 4 TD last week. NC State also has one of the top defenses in the nation giving up less than 300 yards in every game this year. Take the home underdog WolfPack on the money line if you are feeling great down on Tobacco Road. P4Ps stone-cold, lead-pipe lock on this one: Lots of chewing tobacco, dipping and all three phases of smoking from the CeeGar, to the traditional cigarette, to the wacky tobacky (not to be confused with former standout Tobacky Jones). Let’s get real though, the only reason for anyone else in the country to watch this game is if you’ve got some action on it.
MIAMI +7 over Oklahoma
Bounce back game for Miami after their disaster last week. Hurricane stud QB Jacory Harris should play well this week in the friendly confines of the Orange Bowl, I mean Joe Robbie, no wait, Pro Player, oops I mean Land Shark stadium or whatever the F you call the home turf of once mighty, and almost back, the U. Oklahoma will be without Sam Bradford again and the speedy Miami defense will give back-up Landry Jones all he can handle. This game will go down to the wire and we’ll gladly take the touchdown cushion at home.
Usc -4 over CAL
USC has dominated this series over the last 5 years and you have to wonder how Cal QB Kevin Riley will respond should he get off to a slow start. For those of you who are thinking that Cal’s blowout loss last Saturday to Oregon was just a one-time deal or an abberation, guess again. In fact loyal bear backer Ken Miles has coined an adjective for this recurrent type of Bear’s loss, typi-CAL. Whether it’s going back to promising turned disappointing weekends of the Rich Campbell and Gale Gilbert eras to present day scenarios, Cal just refuses to get over the hump and get it done. In addition, USC will be extremely motivated to play this one for injured RB Stafon Johnson, who was almost killed in a weightlifting accident. In what should be a low scoring game, look for the USC offense to do enough to pull out a 10 point win.
ARIZONA STATE -4 ½ over Oregon State
The opportunistic ASU defense is the real deal, leading the nation in turnover margin. They battled Georgia between the Hedges and more than held their own. Oregon State has been less than impressive in the early going and should have a very difficult time doing anything offensively with Sean “Turnover Machine” Canfield at QB. The ASU passing attack makes the difference in this one.
Ucla +5 over STANFORD
Ucla has had 2 weeks to prepare and get QB Kevin Craft ready and love him or hate him, but Skippy Neuheisel can coach. Also extremely well coached and highly physical Stanford is coming off their emotional win over Washington and now play against one of the most underrated defenses in the nation. Stanford RB Toby Gerhart is going to have a tough day against this defense. Take the Bruins plus the 5.
Northwestern +7 over PURDUE
This game will be a shootout. If you like points then you will like this game. A welcome break from most of what Big-10 football is all about these days. Most games from this second tier conference are snooze fests. In fact, I recently called my cable provider to ask them to remove Big-10 TV from our channel line-up. No such luck. We like Northwestern to keep this close since the Purdue defense couldn’t stop anyone if it wanted too. OVER 57 would seem to be a safe bet here as well.
That’s all for today. Play wise, play smart, manage your account and play on Players!!
Good Luck!!!

NCAA College Football picks for Saturday, September 26th
Stanford -8 over Washington
Washington coming off a huge win, must now travel on the road to face a very underrated Stanford Cardinal. Look for Stanford to take it to the Huskies using a potent ground game for their 8th straight cover at home. Did you know that teams who beat USC are 2-14 against the spread in their next game? Coach Jim Harbaugh, like his brother Baltimore Raven head coach John, are proving to be outstanding head coaches and leaders. Both of their teams are solid and don’t really beat themselves too frequently with stupid penalties. While U-Dub has competed well all year and is a huge improvement from recent seasons, they are due for a let down.
TCU +3 over Clemson
TCU, giving up just 1.5 yards per rush, will completely shut down Clemson’s ground attack while the Horned Frogs offense should have their way on the ground against the Clemson defense. TCU has covered the spread in 18 of their last 23 games.
Kansas -13 ½ over Southern Miss
Although Southern Miss has won 8 in a row, Kansas’ passing attack led by Todd Reesing should dominate this game. Kansas is a money making machine right now as they come under valued every week. Forget about the on-campus in-fighting about who is more popular with the ladies. The Jayhawk Football and Basketball squads had multiple altercations this past week that apparently have been brewing for years. The hoopers will continue to pull the ladies because as they say ‘a team is a direct reflection of its’ head coach’ and while these Football Jayhawks and Head Coach ‘Slim’ Mangino have looked good on the field, ‘Slim’ actually looks like he swallowed basketball coach Bill Self whole during one of the altercations. Yes they may have been distracted all week, but look for KU to crush Southern Miss.
Alabama -17 ½ over Arkansas
Alabama beat this same Arkansas team last year 49-14. Look for more of the same today as the Alabama defense should dominate and rattle the Arkansas QB, Ryan Mallett, making his first road start.
Georgia -12 over Arizona State
Georgia dominated this matchup last year with the only change being that the ASU QB will be making his first road start “between the hedges”. Not an easy task for anyone.
Florida State -14 ½ over South Florida
Coming off last weeks big win over BYU, Florida State looks to keep it rolling against a South Florida team who will have a new QB at the helm this week.
North Carolina +2 over Georgia Tech
It seems that teams are starting to catch up with Paul Johnson’s running schemes and this week they face a very fast North Carolina defense. Butch Davis is 7-2 as a road underdog.
Purdue +7over Notre Dame
Purdue is all offense and no defense but Notre Dame will be missing their star wide receiver, Michael Floyd and might be without Jimmy Clausen who is hobbling with turf toe. We expect Clausen to be ineffective which will keep this game close to the wire.
Oregon State -3 over Arizona
There are not too many places that are tougher to play than Corvallis especially if you are making your first road start which Nick Foles the AZ QB will be doing. Arizona was less than stellar last week against a solid Iowa team that clearly was looking ahead to this week’s match-up at Penn State. The Beavers has covered 9 of 10 in Corvallis under Coach Mike Riley.
With one eye on 6 television screens and the other eye focussed on the future, your team here at P4P will continue to solidify our research and information all day Saturday for tonight’s Penn State-Iowa game as well as preparing for a full day of NFL action tomorrow.
Check back around 7 pm EST for our selection on tonight’s 8 pm EST kick-off between the Penn State Nitany-Lions and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
