Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 7.
Because we feel confident with our recent success on our 5 STAR plays, we are giving you, our loyal followers FREE direct access to our 5 star selections in the Pro Football Weekly National Handicapper’s Bowl. We are currently in 2nd place in the overall standings and have correctly selected 5 out of 6 FIVE STAR games. Check it out at http://nhbowl.com/Games.php
This Sunday we have 2 games that we feel are 5 STAR worthy:
Chicago @ Cincinnati, 1pm EST
Current Line: Cincinnati -1
Last week Chicago moved the ball up and down the field against Atlanta only to have trouble in the red zone. We do not see that happening this week against a Cincinnati defense without 2 of its biggest stars. Jay Cutler will have a big day and Carson Palmer will struggle against that tough Bears defense. Cincinnati seem to play nothing but close games and have won the majority of them, but we look for that trend to stop today. The Bears finally have a quarterback that allows them to attack and keep attacking downfield. This game should be a fun to watch, high-scoring affair. Think about OVER 42 ½ if you want extra action on this one. This could be 21-17 after the first quarter.
Our Pick: Chicago +1
New England vs. Tampa Bay, 1pm EST (Wembley Stadium, London, England 7PM local time) Current Line: New England -14
We see no reason why New England, on a road trip to Olde England, won’t pick up right where it left off last week against a Tampa Bay team that is arguably the National Football League’s worst team. This one won’t be close. If you’ve made the trip over enjoy this Jolly good show and as always when traveling across the pond, if you need a safe place to protect your cash and valuables, hide them under the soap! For some reason, Euros never think to look there, ever.
Our Pick: New England -14
Other games we like on today’s limited NFL slate:
Atlanta +4 ½ @ Dallas: There are two NFL team fan bases that just can’t seem to figure out the difference between betting with your head and betting with your heart. Dallas fans along with the ridiculously passionate J.E.T.S. JETS, JETS, JETS fans will pour money into the system and on their squad to sway the line. This game is one of those games. I’m sorry people, but the wrong team is favored here. After destroying San Francisco on the road and outlasting a solid and explosive Bears team, the Falcons are going to toast the Cowboys today. Take the points if you want to play safe and if you are feeling lucky, then take the Falcons straight up.
Indianapolis –14 @ St. Louis Rams: Indianapolis will be inspired by the return of Bob Sanders, as if they needed inspiration. Manning is proving once again that he’s more than just Eli’s older brother. St. Louis will eventually turn things around for Coach Spags, but it won’t be today, this season, or anytime soon. Look for Indianapolis to run a one-sided, high scoring and well orchestrated scrimmage today against the Lambs.
TOTALs that we like:
San Francisco @ Houston 1 PM EST: OVER 44
Look for Michael Crabtree to get involved early and often today in his hometown and NFL debut with the 49ers. Stump the Schaub should also have a big day for the Texans. We see this as an easy OVER, maybe by half time.
NY JETS @ Oakland Raiders 4:05 PM EST: UNDER 34 ½:
It’s possible that the only touchdowns scored in this one will be on Defense and Special Teams. Look for both teams to blitz all day and create opportunities through this relentless pressure. This could be the most exciting UNDER in quite some time.
Arizona @ NY Giants 8:35 PM EST: OVER 46 ½
This should be a barnburner from the opening kick. Look for lots of scoring early and then a critical drive late by either team will seal the deal. We see a final of 31-28, one way or another.

Picks4Players Top College football picks for Saturday, October 17th.
HOME TEAM IN CAPS
ALABAMA -17 ½ over South Carolina
The Alabama defense has been dominant, giving up less than 90 yards in the first half of 4 out 6 games on the year. South Carolina has been giving up 4.3 yards per rush and QB Steven Garcia has been very erratic leading the ‘Cocks. If Alabama gets up early, Garcia will have a difficult time playing catch up and he will commit turnovers leading to a run-a-way victory for the Crimson Tide.
ARIZONA -4 over Stanford
Arizona is looking for revenge over Stanford after last years defeat. This will be toughest test the Stanford ground game has had to face all year and we think the Stanford defense was exposed last week against Oregon State. Look for Arizona QB Nick Foles to continue his hot play over the past couple of weeks.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE +4 1/2 over Mississippi State
Why Mississippi State would schedule this game on the road is a head scratcher. They are going to get ambushed this week facing a good Middle Tennessse State team that can put some points on the board. This game is also on TV which should get the home crowd fired up more than usual. A MTSU game usually equals lots of moonshine, some being consumed out of Souvenir Ketchup Bottles that look like Curt Schilling. Now when you add a national TV audience, I don’t know if we’ll be able to keep all of our teeth in place for this one.
ARIZONA STATE -6 ½ over Washington
This line just keeps climbing and with good reason. Washington gives up more yards on the ground than any Pac 10 team. With the late start in Tempe, look for the Sun Devil co-eds to be both liquored up and fired up for this one. Jake Locker simply can’t do it himself for the Huskies, but count on him having a great time after the game with a few of the aforementioned ASU co-eds. He is a stud.
WISCONSIN -2 ½ over Iowa
Wisky outgained Ohio State by over 200 yards last week and we think they will give the Iowa defense all it can handle this week. Iowa has not run the ball particularly well this year and when they have to pass look for the Wisconsin defense to get a couple of picks. As an added bonus, Wisky is playing this with revenge from last year.
TEXAS -3 over Oklahoma
Everyone will tell you Oklahoma has a great pass defense but other than BYU who have they faced that can really throw the ball? Look for Texas to have some success throwing the ball while the Texas defensive line will give Sam Bradford all he can handle. Remember Bradford will be without all world TE Gresham for the remainder of the year.
COLORADO +10 over Kansas
The Kansas defense has been brutal over the past 2 weeks yielding over 32 points per game. Colorado’s new QB who looked impressive last week should have a big day throwing the ball and keeping this one close the entire way. It would not be a surprise to see Colorado win the game.

Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 4.
Tennessee @ Jacksonville , 1pm est
Current Line: Tennessee -3
The 0-3 Tennessee Titans are desperate as they travel to Jacksonville and try to right their ship, but they will have to do it without starting CB Cortland Finnegan. This is a Tennessee defense that has struggled against the pass all season, so far giving up over 275 yards a game through the air. Jacksonville is a home underdog that must be taken seriously and we like them here, getting a field goal.
Our Pick: Jacksonville +3
Cincinnati @ Cleveland , 1pm est
Current Line: Cincinnati -5
Cleveland is changing QB’s, going with Mr. Turnover, Derek Anderson. That’s the least of their problems. The organization is in shambles. The Jets, the Patriots, Bill Belichik, and many others around the league continue to laugh out loud at the Browns’ and their coaching ‘search’ and hiring ‘process’ that landed Eric Mangini the gig as Browns’ head coach. Nothing screams ‘I’m a putz’ more than Mangini himself walking the sidelines acting like he’s in charge and in control while the rest of us know that nobody in that locker room respects their pudgy tool of a leader. He hasn’t earned the nickname Mangina for nothing. Strictly speaking football, Cincy’s defense is very underrated and should force a few turnovers, giving Carson Palmer & co. some short fields. We think Cincy wins going away and look for an enormous chorus of booooooooooos to rain down on the Browns from the booooooooooooooooooooooozed up Dawg Pound.
Our Pick: Cincinnati -5
Baltimore @ New England, 1pm est
Current Line: New England -1 ½
Other than the Monday night game, this is probably the marquee game of the week. New England comes into this one with both banged up offensive and defensive lines. At this time of year though, who isn’t a little banged up? We’re all a little banged up. Baltimore has the best run defense and one of the top running attacks through 3 weeks. Better run D and better run game…time for Baltimore to make a statement. New England is hard to figure. They were extremely fortunate to pull out their opener against Buffalo. The Jets beat them soundly in week 2 and their win last week against the Falcons was solid, but less than impressive. One thing is for certain about the Patriots, they are not the dominant team that they were for the first 2/3 of the 2007 season. That ship sailed long ago and in the final analysis, the Patriots legacy during their first 50 years as a franchise is 43 years of being one of the laughing-stocks of football and seven seasons of documented cheating. Happy anniversary. We’ll take the Ravens.
Our Pick: Baltimore ON THE MONEY LINE at +105
NY Jets @ New Orleans, 4:05pm est
Current Line: New Orleans -7
The Jets will be without both starting CB’s which must have New Orleans QB, Drew Brees, licking his chops. Brees and his quick release along with Sean Payton’s maniacal offensive mind should capitalize early and often against the blitzing J.E.T.S. JETS, JETS, JETS. No doubt Mark Sanchez has been very good in the early going but he has never played in a place like the Superdome. Expect the ‘Dirty Sanchise’ to receive a rude welcome to the dirty South. This one will be an easy double-digit win for New Orleans.
Our Pick: New Orleans -7
Dallas @ Denver, 4:15pm est
Current Line: Dallas -3
Dallas is very thin at RB but Marion Barber might play and if he does then Dallas will finally expose the Broncos for what they really are….the worst 3-0 team in football. Tashard Choice will get the bulk of the carries, Barber will be used in spots, Romo will have a solid day. The Dallas’ defense should pressure Denver QB Kyle Orton all day and should force some bad throws and short fields for Tony Romo. We may even see a pick 6 for the Cowboys. Welcome back to Earth Josh McDaniels.
Our Pick: Dallas -3
OVER/UNDER Selections
NY Giants-KC Chiefs…We like UNDER 42. Giants are a great road team and we doubt KC will score 10 points. Brandon Jacobs, Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw. Rinse and repeat. The G-Men will get physical today.
Washington-Tampa Bay…We like UNDER 37. Both these offenses have been bad. Clinton Portis might not play for Washington and Tampa’s QB situation is a mess. Welcome to being a Head Coach in the league Raheem Morris.
Have a great Sunday. Enjoy the action. Play wise and play smart Player!!!

Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 3.
As always, proceed with caution and play at your own risk.
Tennessee @ NY Jets, 1 pm EST
Current Line: NY Jets -2
The desperate (0-2) Tennessee Titans have their backs against the wall as they face the flying high (2-0) Jets of New Jersey. We have to believe that proven, skilled, defensive tactician Jeff Fisher will have the Titans motivated and ready to attack Jets’ rookie QB Mark ‘Dirty Sanchise’ Sanchez. Look for Tennessee to shorten the game using their potent ground attack while the Tennessee defense shuts down the Jets running game leaving Sanchez in some difficult 3rd and long situations.
Our Pick: Tennessee +2
Jacksonville @ Houston, 1 pm EST
Current Line: Houston -3 ½
After falling flat in week one, Houston rebounded to defeat Tennessee in week two. We think last weeks win will carry over to this Sunday when Jacksonville comes to town. Houston is typically very strong at home, so we think that the week 1 loss at home was an exception. Jacksonville has struggled on offense and the Jags haven’t seemed to respond well to Head-Coach Jake Del Rio’s act for the last 2 plus years, and we see no reason for that to change this week. Look for Matt ‘Stump the’ Schaub to have strong numbers today (for you fantasy tools).
Our Pick: Houston -3 ½
San Francisco @ Minnesota, 1 pm EST
Current Line: Minnesota -6 ½
After 2 relatively easy wins on the road at Cleveland and Detroit, Minnesota returns home for their opener at the Metrodome to face the rejuvenated 49ers. This is a huge benchmark game for the 49ers whose new found toughness on both sides of the ball will be challenged today all the way to the end regardless of the score. If the 49ers can find a way to win this one, then Coach Singletary and his men will have climbed a certain hill on the 49er organization’s road back to NFL respectability. We see this as a defensive battle with both teams staying with the ground game for as long as they can. In the end this will be a battle of field goals, so instead of picking a side….
Our Pick: UNDER 40
Green Bay @ St. Louis, 1 pm EST
Current Line: Green Bay -6 ½
Green Bay has struggled in pass protection early on, but a game against probably the worst team in the NFL will be a cure all. After last weeks disappointing loss to Cincinnati, Green Bay will be extra motivated to get a win this week. St. Louis’ anemic offense has only 1 touchdown in 8 quarters this year.
Our Pick: Green Bay -6 ½
Atlanta @ New England, 1 pm EST
Current Line: New England -4 ½
New England could very easily be 0-2 heading into this game while Atlanta heads on the road for the first time this year. We’ve been telling you for two years that the tainted and stained New England ‘dynasty’ is over and they’ve done nothing this season to suggest anything other than mediocrity. New England has some injury issues at wide receiver and their lackluster defense will have all kinds of problems stopping Atlanta’s Michael Turner. Also, the Pats have nobody to match-up with new Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez. Atlanta has the better defense and ground game, which are the 2 biggest factors in winning on the road in the NFL.
Our Pick: Atlanta +4 ½
Indianapolis @ Arizona
Current Line: Arizona –2 1/2
The Indy defense has to be tired after chasing the Miami offense last Monday. Now they have to come back on a short week to chase the Arizona receivers all over the field. The Arizona defense is very underrated and should match up well against the Indy receivers. We llo for this to be a high scoring affair. Arizona will not be able to be as successful at keeping Peyton Manning off the field. Miami’s 8 minute drives severely limited the Colts’ offensive touches yet they were still able to score almost at will. Two of their touchdowns were scored in less than 45 seconds.
Our Picks: Arizona –2 1/2 and OVER 48
Fall is here! The ‘Smell of Football’ is in the air.

NCAA College Football picks for Saturday, September 26th
Stanford -8 over Washington
Washington coming off a huge win, must now travel on the road to face a very underrated Stanford Cardinal. Look for Stanford to take it to the Huskies using a potent ground game for their 8th straight cover at home. Did you know that teams who beat USC are 2-14 against the spread in their next game? Coach Jim Harbaugh, like his brother Baltimore Raven head coach John, are proving to be outstanding head coaches and leaders. Both of their teams are solid and don’t really beat themselves too frequently with stupid penalties. While U-Dub has competed well all year and is a huge improvement from recent seasons, they are due for a let down.
TCU +3 over Clemson
TCU, giving up just 1.5 yards per rush, will completely shut down Clemson’s ground attack while the Horned Frogs offense should have their way on the ground against the Clemson defense. TCU has covered the spread in 18 of their last 23 games.
Kansas -13 ½ over Southern Miss
Although Southern Miss has won 8 in a row, Kansas’ passing attack led by Todd Reesing should dominate this game. Kansas is a money making machine right now as they come under valued every week. Forget about the on-campus in-fighting about who is more popular with the ladies. The Jayhawk Football and Basketball squads had multiple altercations this past week that apparently have been brewing for years. The hoopers will continue to pull the ladies because as they say ‘a team is a direct reflection of its’ head coach’ and while these Football Jayhawks and Head Coach ‘Slim’ Mangino have looked good on the field, ‘Slim’ actually looks like he swallowed basketball coach Bill Self whole during one of the altercations. Yes they may have been distracted all week, but look for KU to crush Southern Miss.
Alabama -17 ½ over Arkansas
Alabama beat this same Arkansas team last year 49-14. Look for more of the same today as the Alabama defense should dominate and rattle the Arkansas QB, Ryan Mallett, making his first road start.
Georgia -12 over Arizona State
Georgia dominated this matchup last year with the only change being that the ASU QB will be making his first road start “between the hedges”. Not an easy task for anyone.
Florida State -14 ½ over South Florida
Coming off last weeks big win over BYU, Florida State looks to keep it rolling against a South Florida team who will have a new QB at the helm this week.
North Carolina +2 over Georgia Tech
It seems that teams are starting to catch up with Paul Johnson’s running schemes and this week they face a very fast North Carolina defense. Butch Davis is 7-2 as a road underdog.
Purdue +7over Notre Dame
Purdue is all offense and no defense but Notre Dame will be missing their star wide receiver, Michael Floyd and might be without Jimmy Clausen who is hobbling with turf toe. We expect Clausen to be ineffective which will keep this game close to the wire.
Oregon State -3 over Arizona
There are not too many places that are tougher to play than Corvallis especially if you are making your first road start which Nick Foles the AZ QB will be doing. Arizona was less than stellar last week against a solid Iowa team that clearly was looking ahead to this week’s match-up at Penn State. The Beavers has covered 9 of 10 in Corvallis under Coach Mike Riley.
With one eye on 6 television screens and the other eye focussed on the future, your team here at P4P will continue to solidify our research and information all day Saturday for tonight’s Penn State-Iowa game as well as preparing for a full day of NFL action tomorrow.
Check back around 7 pm EST for our selection on tonight’s 8 pm EST kick-off between the Penn State Nitany-Lions and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Friday Night Lights- College Football WAC Throwdown in California’s Central Valley
September 18, 2009 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment
National darling Boise State hits the road this Friday night for an ESPN showdown in Fresno against the Bulldogs of Fresno State. Boise is riding high after dismantling Oregon in their opener and then destroying Miami, Ohio last weekend 48-0. Fresno State returns home after a valiant effort on the road in Madison against Big-10 foe Wisconsin. This game is a great early season WAC match-up that features Boise State as a 7 1/2 point road favorite. The estimated total on the game is 53 1/2 points.
If you’ve been a loyal P4P follower then you know we are big fans of Fresno State and Head Coach Pat Hill’s ‘anyone, anywhere, any time’ mantra. Boise is very good and this will be tough. The Broncos defense is not at full strength and Fresno moved the ball very well, for awhile, against Wisconsin last week. We expect Boise to pull this one out, but getting the extra 1/2 point hook over the touchdown spread sways us to the Bulldogs side. Also, while we expect a good offensive game, we think that 53 1/2 points are too many tonight.
Our selections tonight: FRESNO STATE + 7 1/2 and UNDER 53 1/2
Check back with us tomorrow about 30 minutes prior to the first kickoff of the day and as always, follow us on Twitter.
Good luck and play on player!!!
