Greetings to all of our loyal P4Peeps. While life continuously tries to throw us distractions, curve balls if you will, your partners here at Picks4Players remain locked in to the pulse of the National Football League and the playoffs. P4P went 2-1 last weekend in our 5 star selections against the spread (ATS) and would have been perfect were it not for Aaron Rodgers historiCALly typiCAL OT blunder that ruined an otherwise exceptional day by the Chico, CA native. It also ended the season for a dangerous Packers team and ultimately cost P4P the up to the minute, year-to-date lead in the 30th Annual National Handicapper’s Bowl, as featured in Pro Football Weekly. Otherwise, your handicapping consultants, your partners here at Picks4Players were right on target. As predicted, the J.E.T.S. JETS! JETS! JETS! rolled over Cincy and while most services told you that New England was a lock, we correctly told you that not only wouldn’t the PATS cover, but their season would end. We told you that nobody feared the Patriots around the NFL and if you research some of the Ravens post game comments, that is exactly what was said. The Mystique has turned into a mistake. Belichick, the fourth best Head Coach in NFL History named Bill is sounding much like the guy who got run out of Cleveland by the Browns, S.O.U.R. The fake dynasty of the Patriots, as previously told to you on this very site, is O.V.E.R, OVER.
Speaking of OVER, let’s get to this week’s action. This weekend’s four playoff match-ups leave the P4P team with some very strong opinions about who will advance, who will go home, and who will cover the point spread. Saturday’s Games feature Arizona at New Orleans and a night-cap of the Baltimore Ravens visiting the Indianapolis Colts. New Orleans is a 7 point favorite with a point TOTAL of 57 in game 1 and Indianapolis is a 6 1/2 point favorite with a point TOTAL of 44 in game 2.
Starting with game 2 tonight, we fully expect this battle to be an all out brawl. Ray Lewis will be at his entertaining, intimidating, passionate, insane best tonight. He will be playing with a passion similar to the hatred the Raven fans have for their former beloved COLTS and the Irsay family who bailed on Baltimore several decades ago under the cover of darkness. The Ravens will leave it all on the field, as they say, but will it be enough against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts? We don’t think so. Manning will have a little early rust but will maximize the Colts offensive possessions with pretty high efficiency. We expect the Colts to score. We expect Baltimore to grind the clock with Ray Rice and limit Manning’s touches. What does it all mean? We expect Indy to shake off the early rust and ultimately win this game. They may in fact cover the spread, but with the line @ - 6 1/2, we’d recommend buying it down to 6. With the wackiness of the NFL, the half-point hook bothers us. OUR Recommendation for this game: Indy-Baltimore OVER 44
The first game of the day should be an old fashioned barnburner. The scoreboard should be rolling like a pinball machine similar to last week’s game between the Packers and Cardinals. The game should be wildly entertaining, high scoring, and should come down to one of these defenses finally stopping the other teams offense. I don’t think we’ll see 96 points like we did last weekend, but the Saints and Cardinals will light up the Super Dome which will be electric. Who Dat? The Cardinals, Dat Who. We don’t know if Kurt Warner and the Cards will pull off the win in the Big Easy, but we do know that the reigning NFC champs won’t go out like punks. OUR Recommendations: Arizona +7 and OVER 57
Enjoy the entertainment that is the NFL. These guys, our modern day gladiators laying it all on the line. Play wise, play smart, play on, PLAYERS!!!

With the JETS and Cowboys rolling into the second round of the NFL playoffs after impressive victories yesterday against the Bengals and Eagles respectively, your team here at Picks4Players has some very strong opinions on both games today, wrapping up Wildcard weekend 2010. In game 1 today the Baltimore Ravens travel North to New England to face the big Mass-hole, Bill Belichik and his New England Patriots who are a 3 1/2 point favorite with a point TOTAL of 43. Game 2 is a rematch of last week’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, AZ. Green Bay blew out Arizona last week in a relatively meaningless game. The point spread started the week with the Cardinals as a 2- 2 1/2 point favorite but at kick-off today it looks like the Packers will be favored by 1 1/2 points with a point TOTAL of 47 1/2.
New England, the capital of Front-Runner Nation, is cautiously optimistic that their ‘magic’ from their fake dynasty of the past eight seasons (tainted by multiple documented cheating incidents-Spy Gate and the Human Growth Harrison for starters) will resurface just in time to make another Super Bowl run. That’s not happening. Just a few weeks ago New England sports talk radio sounded off with statements such as, ‘In Bill we Trust! Can we REALLY trust Bill anymore?’ Let’s get a few things straight New England, as a fan base you define the term fair-weather, and as far as Bill Belichik’s place in history, no he isn’t the ‘best coach in the history of the NFL,’ at best he’s the fourth best NFL Head Coach named Bill, firmly behind Bill Walsh, Bill Parcells, and of course Bill Cowher. In fact, Belichik’s in-game adjustments have been either non-existent or just flat out wrong because the Pats performance in second-halves of games has been laughable at best. A genius, puh-leeeez! Now, as far as the game goes today. It will be clear, blustery, and freezing cold in Foxborough and that will actually favor Baltimore’s physical style. The only ones who take any stock in the ‘Patriots Mystique’ are Patriots fans. Nobody in the NFL fears the Patriots. Nobody. With no Wes Welker today, all of New England has praising his replacement Julian Edelman. Praise his all you want but as soon as he runs his first Welker slant route and Ray Lewis lights him up like a Christmas tree, look for the Pats to crumble, turn the ball over, point fingers, and take cheap shots like a Vince Wilfork finger in the eye. The fact is that the Pats are not very talented and this has been a highly successful season for them. A season that ends today. Our pick: Baltimore + 3 1/2, and if you are feeling ballsy, take the Ravens on the $ line. We also like UNDER 43
In game 2., normally we would be inclined to stick with a favorite strategy of ours, if all the money is headed in one direction, we typically like to go the other way. With all of the money being played on Green Bay there has been a 4 point swing in the spread favoring the Packers. Again, in most cases we would be all over Arizona. In this case however, we just don’t see it. Green Bay dominated last week and we see more of the same. The Packers are just a better all around team and the Cardinals propensity for turning the ball over will haunt last year’s NFC Champion. Look for Aaron Rodgers and the Pack to roll in the desert. Our Pick: Green Bay - 1 1/2 and we also like OVER 47 1/2.
Enjoy the day’s action and well be back Friday or Saturday with all of next weekend’s NFL action covered. Best of luck from your team here at Picks4Players.

Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 16.
Seattle @ Green Bay (-14)
On paper this game seems like a mismatch but the weather will play a huge factor in keeping this game close. We have also noticed a positive trend lately with teams that are double digit underdogs. Seattle won’t win but they will keep it to single digits.
OUR PICK: SEATTLE +14
Houston @ Miami (-3)
This is essentially a playoff game for both teams. The loser is out of the playoff chase. This game is easy to pick if you look at it from the view that it’s a playoff game. Miami has the better defense and the better ground game. They will keep Houston’s offense off the field and chew up clock running the ball.
OUR PICK: MIAMI -3
Denver @ Philadelphia (-7)
The Eagles offense is rolling and the return of Brian Westbrook will only make it better. The Eagles defense will make it tough on Kyle Orton all day. Look for a double digit victory for the Eagles. Philly is preparing to make a deep run into the playoffs and if an injury to Michael Vick is one of your main concerns, you are fine! Look for Asante Samuel to pick off as many as three Kyle Orton passes today and at least one will be a T.A.I.N.T (Touchdown After INT). Brian Dawkins returns to Philly and after one possible nice round of applause…….never mind, a huge chorus of boos raining down from the loyal Philly fans, he’ll have his hands full trying to coral this Eagles offense.
OUR PICK: PHILADELPHIA -7
Dallas @ Washington (+6 ½)
We have been on board with the home underdogs for the past few weeks and this looks like another good spot. The Redskins will be in spoiler mode and fired up to put a damper on Dallas’ playoff hopes. This will be a hard fought low scoring game. If you’re worried about Albert Haynesworth and his getting sent home from practice by lame duck head man Jim Zorn, do not worry. If I may quote the great philosopher AI, as in, Allen Iverson, ‘Practice! Practice! What are we really talking about here? Practice? Not a game, but practice!’ So Zorn the Thorn basically pissed off the best D-lineman in the game, and then gave him a day off so he can feel better on Sunday. Look for ‘Phat Albert’ to require constant double teams while still shutting down many of the Cowboys rushing attempts, while DEs Carter and Arakpo hammer and harass Tony Romo all game.
OUR PICK: Washington +6 ½
….and only one unbeaten team remains! Picks4Players and The NFL are heating up in an East Coast blizzard
December 20, 2009 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment
After going 3-0 this week with correct selections of the underdog 49ers on Monday Night and the Saturday Night upset special Dallas Cowboys to go along with our riding the favored Colts and Peyton Manning on Thursday, your team here at P4P, on Sunday, looks to extend our lead in the 30th Annual National Handicapper’s Bowl, as featured in Pro Football Weekly. After Dallas dismantled Drew Brees and the Saints in the SuperDome last night, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts are the lone remaining unbeaten team this year, but with the way the Jags marched up and down the field on the Colts, don’t look for them to be the first team to go 19-0. Their time will come and they will go down.
Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 15 .
Miami @ Tennessee (-5)
The Titans are playing better football lately but Miami is battling for a playoff spot and will give Tennessee all it can handle. We see this as more of a field goal game that should go down to the last possession.
OUR PICK: MIAMI +5
Tampa Bay @ Seattle (-6 1/2)
The Seahawks have been tough at home only losing once all year, while the Bucs have been a disaster on the road. The Bucs have also lost 3 of the last 4 by more than double digits and must travel to the cold Seattle weather. This one shouldn’t be close.
OUR PICK: SEATTLE -6 ½
Cincinnati @ San Diego (-7)
Too many points for the top NFL scoring defense. Cincy is giving up only 16 points per game and should keep the score within a touchdown. We figure this game could turn into a track meet in the second half so the over (43) also seems like a strong play.
OUR PICK: CINCINNATI +7
San Francisco @ Philadelphia (-9)
With Westbrook and Maclin both out for the Eagles, the 49ers should be able to slow down the Philadelphia passing attack. Cold weather should play a part in keeping the score low and creating a tight game to the wire.
OUR PICK: SAN FRANCISCO +9

Spin is a funny thing. How an individual or a group chooses to look at things is not always how things actually are. Case in point, the Sunday Night ‘Flex’ game in the NFL. This week the originally scheduled Sunday Night game was the Patriots at Miami. That, however, has changed to the always intriguing Arizona (yawn!!!) Cardinals versus the speeding in excess of 100 MPH Minnesota Vikings. Sure Favre is a great story that we’re all sick of, but he is actually holding up his end of the deal, playing seemingly mistake-free football. The spin surrounding this ‘flex’ game is the response in New England. Not once has anybody from reporters, to sports-talk radfio, to fans mentioned the clear slap in the face of the Patriots by the NFL by bumping their game from prime time. In fact, all anyone is saying in ‘Denial Nation’ is, ‘finally, we (becasue they’re all part of the team) get a 1 pm game.’ Spin it people, spin it. The reality is, and it is more clear by the day, the Pats are irrelevant to the rest of the country. While still solid and capable, they strike fear in nobody. Now on to the real issues of the day;
Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 13.
Denver (-6) @ Kansas City
The Broncos are fresh off their beating of the Giants where they travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs. The improving Broncos defense should limit the horrrrible Chiefs offense. Look for a 17-7 Broncos victory.
OUR PICK: DENVER -6
Oakland @ Pittsburgh (-14)
The return of Ben Roethlisberger should spark the Steelers offense and the porous Raiders offense will struggle against an angry Steelers defense. It is highly unlikely that the Raiders will even score double digits.
OUR PICK: PITTSBURGH -14
Tampa Bay (+6) @ Carolina
Clearly this is an easy road trip for the Bucs. They have battled hard in recent weeks and we think they will keep this close without Carolina QB Jake Delhomme playing. In this low scoring game getting 6 points will come in handy.
OUR PICK: TAMPA BAY +6
Houston @ Jacksonville (+2)
This line has jumped 2 points in favor of the Jaguars in one day and it doesn’t seem justified. The Jags have been solid at home winning 4 straight. Their running attack should have their way with the porous Texans run defense.
OUR PICK: JACKSONVILLE +2
Sunday November 29th, Week 12, in the National Football League- P4P has free winners again 4 U 2day.

Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 12.
Our pick in BOLD
Jacksonville @ San Francisco (-3)
The Jaguars have yet to play a team with a winning record this year and now must travel west to face the 49ers. While both teams have solid run games, the Jaguars may struggle on the road passing the ball and we see the 49ers defense creating some short field opportunities and easy scores.
Chicago (+10) @ Minnesota
This is just too many points to give up to a divisional rival. The Bears should be able to move the ball through the air and score enough points to keep up with the Vikings, because both team will pass the ball. We also like OVER 47.
Seattle (-4) @ St. Louis
The Rams are an injury-riddled bunch, so Seattle should have their way with the Rams. The Rams will have a very tough time scoring TD’s which will give the Seahawks an easier time covering the 4.
Washington (+9) @ Philadelphia
The Redskins defense has played tough all year and we see no reason why they can’t keep this game close with an inconsistent Eagles offense. Neither team will be able to run the ball which will make play-action fakes much less effective, so throwing will be a challenge too.
Cleveland @ Cincinnati (-13)
The Bengals have just too much firepower for the weak Browns defense. We also see some shorts fields for the Bengals offense as the Brady Quinn led Browns will find the going tough all day against a strong Cincy defense.
Good luck to all the players out there today. Play wise, play smart, play on, Players!!
He’s Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! Sergeant C4 and his explosive NFL picks along with G$’s NHL and Crit’s NCAA plays of the day

As our loyal followers know, we aim to please. You overloaded our server. We were listening and we heard you loud and clear. Making his return engagement, and through his agent agreeing in principle to a multi-week contract with Picks4Players, is none other than Myth Busters frequent guest contributor and the show’s resident explosives expert Sergeant JD Nelson, aka JD, aka Clark, but best known as Sergeant C4. C4 will be delivering his fireworks show via www.Picks4Players.com every Thursday for the remainder of the NFL season and playoffs. C4 specifically requested Thursdays so he could help protect and serve all the players out there. Whether it’s in the weekly office pool, for Thursday night Football, or really for any and all games on the NFL weekly slate, Sergent C4 wants to help you, ‘Take a bite out of the Line’. Enjoy his contributions as C4 is one of a kind.
In addition, in today’s update we are featuring G$’s razor sharp NHL play of the day as well as Crit ‘TheGreek’ Hippo’s NCAA Basketball lock of the night. We feel very strongly about our recommendations and hope they help enhance your enjoyment of tonight’s action as well as getting the NFL weekend kicked off right. As always, this advice is for entertainment purposes only!!!
With that being said, enjoy the post…..and here are C4’s NFL picks:
Alright this should be fun:
Miami +3 at Carolina. I’m not sold on Miami and Carolina keeps winning: Carolina -3
Cleveland +3 1/2 at Detroit. At least Detroit can score: Detroit -3 1/2
Buffalo +9 at Jacksonville. Jacksonville keeps winning and Buffalo has the curse of T.O. Jacksonwille -9
Pittsburgh -10 at KC. Pittsburgh should be in full pissed off mode: Pittsburgh -10
Indy -1 at Baltimore. I don’t think Indy will go undefeated but they’ll beat Baltimore. Indianapolis -1
Atlanta + 6 1/2 at NYG. Hoo boy- two teams that are hard to predict: Giants - 6 1/2
SF + 6 at GB. Alex Smith hasn’t proven he can will consistantly: Green Bay - 6
Seattle + 11 at Minnesota. Brett Farve has…. Minnesota - 11
Washington +12 at Dallas. Washington has life, Dallas should be pissed. Good rivalry game where Dallas wins….but not by 12..Washington + 12.
New Orleans - 11 1/2 at Tampa Bay. Does New Orleans ever cover? Tampa Bay +11 1/2
Arizona - 9 1/2 at St Louis. Warner is back the the STL…Arizona - 9 1/2
Jets = 10 1/2 at New England. Provided the Pats don’t go on 4th and 2 all game I’d take the Patriots. Patriots - 10 1/2
Cincinnati - 9 1/2 at Oakland. I thought the spread would be 17, so it’s a bargain at 9.5! Cincinnati - 9 1/2
San Diego at Denver -NO LINE. San Diego is hotter right now… Chargers
Philly - 2 at Chicago. The Bears are who we thought they were! Philly -2
Tennessee + 4 1/2 at Houston. The Titans are rolling! Tennessee + 4 1/2
HOCKEY ….and now here is G$’s NHL pick o’ the day. Columbus +115 @ Dallas. Dallas is playing back-to-back nights coming off a hard fought win @ Detroit last night. Columbus on the road is a respectable 5-4 while Dallas at home is only a .500 team.
COLLEGE HOOPS….and here is Crit ‘ The Greek’ Hippo’s NCAA College Basketball play o’ the day: Cal travels to NYC to play against Syracuse in the Gahden. Cal is favored by 1 1/2. Jim Boeheim tends to recruit some knuckleheads and punks, but they won’t be punk’d in this nationally televised game in their backyard. Syracuse should be in their customary 2-3 zone forcing Cal to bomb away from the perimeter. Cal was one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the nation last year and tonight they will have no problem taking the 3-ball, making them could be another story. Syracuse will constantly have a hand in the Cal shooters’ face and they will own the defensive glass. Cal will take their role of favorite and in typi-CAL fashion they will not get it done. Take Syracuse + 1 1/2.

NFL Sunday and P4P Free Selections, Explosive Guest Picker
November 8, 2009 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment
As you, our loyal followers know, we here at P4P do everything we can to provide all the players out there with just enough of the right information, coupled with the necessary intuition to ‘go with our rather large guts’ to help sway the playing field in your direction. For that reason we are pleased to welcome to Picks4Players a special guest selector today who we expect to provide explosive picks today.
You may be familiar with today’s special guest if you watch the TV show MythBusters. As a frequent guest contributor to that show and their resident explosives expert, Sergeant JD Nelsonis very familiar with the National Football League. We can’t go into the depth of his NFL resume as it is on a ‘need to know’ basis. We think you’ll appreciate Sergeant Nelson’s candor and style. Check out Sergeant Nelson’s selections at the bottom of this posting and enjoy the day.
Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS for NFL week 9.
Our pick in BOLD
Kansas City (+6 ½) @ Jacksonville
The Chiefs are coming off a bye week to face a Jaguar team that is 0-7 as a home favorite. Both of these teams look evenly matched so we will take the points here. Quite frankly these teams seem to be headed in the opposite directions. If anyone can figure out the Jaguars, please stand up…please stand up.
Miami @ New England (-10)
After Miami introduced the NFL to the Wildcat offense last season, embarrassed the Patriots and completely exposed Bill Belichik as clearly not the best in-game strategist, the Pats have figured it out. New England completely shutdown the wildcat in the first meeting this season, so look for more of the same with the Patriots coming off the bye week. Also, Joey Porter loves to hear himself talk almost as much as I like to hear him talk. His comments about Tom Brady essentially begging for calls was right on point, however, on this brisk and sunny New England Sunday, Porter’s comments will only come back to bite the ‘Phins in the a$$. Brady will throw for at least 4 TD passes in this Pats rout.
Houston (+9) @ Indianapolis
Under normal circumstances this would look like a great spot for Indy, but Indy will be without 3 starting defensive backs, which can’t be good facing the NFL’s 4th best passing team. We also like OVER 49.
Baltimore @ Cincinnati (+3)
After an emotional win over Denver last week, Baltimore goes on the road to face the Bengals off a bye week. Again, this looks like an even match up but we like the fresher Bengals to win outright.
San Diego (+4 ½) @ NY Giants
With a late afternoon start to this one, the San Diego body clocks with feel right on-time. The odds makers have not caught up to the currently lousy NY Giant defense. Let’s get real about this NY Giants squad, they are not very good. Their early season schedule explains the hot start, the win over Dallas was their lone quality win, and when they’ve faced quality NFC teams, they barely show up. Things aren’t looking good in the NYC. Wasn’t it after week 3 that we were hearing about the ‘Subway Super Bowl’ or the ‘Meadowlands Miracle Super Bowl’ or whatever they wanted to call the never to happen Giants-J.E.T.S. JETS, JETS, JETS, Super Bowl.
Dallas @ Philadelphia (-3)
The Eagles welcome back Brian Westbrook this week to an offense that was on all cylinders last week. Dallas has played well the past couple of weeks but the cold Philly air will put a chill to the Dallas offense. Philly will begin to assert themselves as one of only a few legitimate contenders in the far more entertaining NFC.
Sergeant JD Nelson’s NFL C4 Selections:
Scouring the odds for this weeks football games….
Niners 4 over Tennessee…take the niners they’ll win by 10 I see.
Baltimore 3 over Cincy…I like Cincy…dont know why Indy 9 over Houston….Indy kills crappy teams. Indy
Atlanta 10 over Warshington ummmm dont know
Green Bay 9.5 over Tampon Bay…Tampa Sucks take Green Bay
Chicago 3 over Arizona…which teams are going to show up? No pick
New England 10.5 over Miami…Pats are at home and will cover
Nah Orleens 13.5 over Carolina…not too sure but i’d take N.O.
Seattle 10 over Detroit…Seattle is not that good, but good enough. SEA
NYG 4.5 over San Diego….This is the time SD starts playing well. SD
Philly 3 over Dallas….Philly is tough unless they play the Raidahs. PHI
Pittsburgh 3 over Denver… who the F knows…Home team wins..Denver
