Here are PICKS4PLAYERS BEST BETS in College Football for November 26th & 27th.

Coming off a strong 5-2 week in our college picks, Picks4Players is ready to give you the edge for this Thursday and Friday in College Football. More rivalry games this week. Also, don’t forget your consulting team here at P4P, are in 3rd place in Pro Football Weekly’s National Handicappers Bowl. Follow our progress all season long at www.NHBowl.com.
Our picks in BOLD

THURSDAY
Texas @ Texas A&M (+22)
The Aggies are looking to avenge last years 49-9 thumping by the Longhorns. The Aggies might have what it takes to at least keep this close until halftime. They feature a good ground game, which if used right, can control the clock and keep the ball out of Colt McCoy’s hands. We like getting more than 3 TD’s in this match up.

FRIDAY
Pittsburgh @ West Virginia (+2)
Let’s face it, we just don’t trust Dave Wannstedt when he has a little prosperity, or at all for that matter. In this year’s edition of the Backyard Brawl, with West Virginia having the home crowd behind them, we see this as a close game throughout. The Mountaineers take control in the 4th quarter however, and win this outright.

Alabama @ Auburn (+11 1/2
The Iron Bowl is one of college football’s greatest rivalries. Auburn was shutout last year so we see them with extra motivation this time around to avenge last year. Alabama just doesn’t have enough offense to blow out the Tigers this year. We like the home team getting points.

Illinois @ Cincinnati (-18)
The Bearcats welcome back QB Tony Pike to their Big East leading offense and combine that with one of the best defenses in the nation, we don’t think the Illini stand a chance. This game is the boat race of the day!

Top College football picks for Saturday, October 24th.

HOME TEAM IN CAPS

Iowa PK over MICHIGAN STATE

Iowa has the inside track for the Rose Bowl and they won’t let up this week against the Spartans with 16-13 revenge on their minds from last year.  Iowa brings the better run game and better defense against the Spartans.

Minnesota +16 ½  over Ohio State

The Golden Gophers might not score much in this game but they will do just enough to cover the spread against the horrible Buckeye offense.  Terelle Pryor might be the worst throwing QB in the BIG 10.  As long as Minnesota doesn’t give OSU and bunch of short field opportunities, this should be an easy cover for the Golden Gophers.

Auburn +7 ½ over LSU

LSU coach, Les Miles, is 0-12 as an SEC home favorite so we will go with the trend here and say Auburn will do enough offensively to keep it close, in what should be a very low scoring game.  With that being said, we also like UNDER 50 1/2

Tcu -2 ½ over BYU

TCU has giving up 18 points or less in 17 out of the last 18 games.  Last year TCU crushed BYU 32-7.  Not much has changed this year, so this should be a win and cover for the visiting Horned Frogs with ESPN Gameday live from Provo, Utah.  Look for Chris Fowler and the Gameday crew to bring back the no longer politically correct Utah state motto, ‘Be Quiet before I marry the both of you.’

Penn State -4 ½ over MICHIGAN

Michigan just isn’t very good yet and they have the 83rd rated defense in the NCAA.  Rich Rodriguez is still trying to get it done with Lloyd Carr’s players and this is just not their time.  Penn State should move the ball and control the game.

STANFORD -6 over Arizona State

The Cardinal return home after back to back road losses to face an Arizona State team that has won two in a row.  The Cardinal is undefeated at home and have put up big numbers led by RB Toby Gerhart.  We see the strong Stanford ground game and scrappy defense controlling this one.

Colorado +4 ½ over KANSAS STATE

Last week Kansas, this week Kansas State.  Look for the improved Buffalos to again control this game and dominate the Wildcats especially in the ground game where the Colorado defense is giving up less than 50 yards per game.  UPSET SPECIAL, take the Buffs on the $-line.

Some other selections we like:

Notre Dame vs. Boston College TOTAL points:  OVER 55

Oklahoma vs. Kansas TOTAL points:  OVER 54

Idaho vs. Nevada TOTAL points: OVER 67

Picks4Players Top College football picks for Saturday, October 17th.

HOME TEAM IN CAPS

ALABAMA -17 ½ over South Carolina

The Alabama defense has been dominant, giving up less than 90 yards in the first half of 4 out 6 games on the year.  South Carolina has been giving up 4.3 yards per rush and QB Steven Garcia has been very erratic leading the ‘Cocks.  If Alabama gets up early, Garcia will have a difficult time playing catch up and he will commit turnovers leading to a run-a-way victory for the Crimson Tide.

ARIZONA -4  over Stanford

Arizona is looking for revenge over Stanford after last years defeat.  This will be toughest test the Stanford ground game has had to face all year and we think the Stanford defense was exposed last week against Oregon State.  Look for Arizona QB Nick Foles to continue his hot play over the past couple of weeks.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE +4 1/2  over Mississippi State

Why Mississippi State would schedule this game on the road is a head scratcher.  They are going to get ambushed this week facing a good Middle Tennessse State team that can put some points on the board. This game is also on TV which should get the home crowd fired up more than usual.  A MTSU game usually equals lots of moonshine, some being consumed out of Souvenir Ketchup Bottles that look like Curt Schilling.  Now when you add a national TV audience, I don’t know if we’ll be able to keep all of our teeth in place for this one.

ARIZONA STATE -6 ½ over Washington

This line just keeps climbing and with good reason.  Washington gives up more yards on the ground than any Pac 10 team.  With the late start in Tempe, look for the Sun Devil co-eds to be both liquored up and fired up for this one.  Jake Locker simply can’t do it himself for the Huskies, but count on him having a great time after the game with a few of the aforementioned ASU co-eds.  He is a stud.

WISCONSIN -2 ½ over Iowa

Wisky outgained Ohio State by over 200 yards last week and we think they will give the Iowa defense all it can handle this week.  Iowa has not run the ball particularly well this year and when they have to pass look for the Wisconsin defense to get a couple of picks.  As an added bonus, Wisky is playing this with revenge from last year.

TEXAS -3 over Oklahoma

Everyone will tell you Oklahoma has a great pass defense but other than BYU who have they faced that can really throw the ball?  Look for Texas to have some success throwing the ball while the Texas defensive line will give Sam Bradford all he can handle.  Remember Bradford will be without all world TE Gresham for the remainder of the year.

COLORADO +10 over Kansas

The Kansas defense has been brutal over the past 2 weeks yielding over 32 points per game.  Colorado’s new QB who looked impressive last week should have a big day throwing the ball and keeping this one close the entire way.  It would not be a surprise to see Colorado win the game.

Fall is here! The ‘Smell of Football’ is in the air.

NCAA College Football picks for Saturday, September 26th

Stanford -8 over Washington

Washington coming off a huge win, must now travel on the road to face a very underrated Stanford Cardinal.  Look for Stanford to take it to the Huskies using a potent ground game for their 8th straight cover at home.  Did you know that teams who beat USC are 2-14 against the spread in their next game?  Coach Jim Harbaugh, like his brother Baltimore Raven head coach John, are proving to be outstanding head coaches and leaders.  Both of their teams are solid and don’t really beat themselves too frequently with stupid penalties.  While U-Dub has competed well all year and is a huge improvement from recent seasons, they are due for a let down.

TCU +3 over Clemson

TCU, giving up just 1.5 yards per rush, will completely shut down Clemson’s ground attack while the Horned Frogs offense should have their way on the ground against the Clemson defense.  TCU has covered the spread in 18 of their last 23 games.

Kansas -13 ½ over Southern Miss

Although Southern Miss has won 8 in a row, Kansas’ passing attack led by Todd Reesing should dominate this game.  Kansas is a money making machine right now as they come under valued every week.  Forget about the on-campus in-fighting about who is more popular with the ladies. The Jayhawk Football and Basketball squads had multiple altercations this past week that apparently have been brewing for years.  The hoopers will continue to pull the ladies because as they say ‘a team is a direct reflection of its’ head coach’ and while these Football Jayhawks and Head Coach ‘Slim’ Mangino have looked good on the field, ‘Slim’ actually looks like he swallowed basketball coach Bill Self whole during one of the altercations.  Yes they may have been distracted all week, but look for KU to crush Southern Miss.

Alabama -17 ½ over Arkansas

Alabama beat this same Arkansas team last year 49-14.  Look for more of the same today as the Alabama defense should dominate and rattle the Arkansas QB, Ryan Mallett, making his first road start.

Georgia -12 over Arizona State

Georgia dominated this matchup last year with the only change being that the ASU QB will be making his first road start “between the hedges”.  Not an easy task for anyone.

Florida State -14 ½ over South Florida

Coming off last weeks big win over BYU, Florida State looks to keep it rolling against a South Florida team who will have a new QB at the helm this week.

North Carolina +2 over Georgia Tech

It seems that teams are starting to catch up with Paul Johnson’s running schemes and this week they face a very fast North Carolina defense.  Butch Davis is 7-2 as a road underdog.

Purdue +7over Notre Dame

Purdue is all offense and no defense but Notre Dame will be missing their star wide receiver, Michael Floyd and might be without Jimmy Clausen who is hobbling with turf toe.  We expect Clausen to be ineffective which will keep this game close to the wire.

Oregon State -3 over Arizona

There are not too many places that are tougher to play than Corvallis especially if you are making your first road start which Nick Foles the AZ QB will be doing.  Arizona was less than stellar last week against a solid Iowa team that clearly was looking ahead to this week’s match-up at Penn State.  The Beavers has covered 9 of 10 in Corvallis under Coach Mike Riley.

With one eye on 6 television screens and the other eye focussed on the future, your team here at P4P will continue to solidify our research and information all day Saturday for tonight’s Penn State-Iowa game as well as preparing for a full day of NFL action tomorrow.

Check back around 7 pm EST for our selection on tonight’s 8 pm EST kick-off between the Penn State Nitany-Lions and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

That’s all for now.  Good luck players.

Following last night’s little hiccup, loads of FREE College Football Winners

September 19, 2009 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

I’m not sure where all of you are and how the weather is, but where I’m sitting, for once we’ve got a beautiful sunny Saturday filled with NCAA College Football action. Before we get to the games however, with the passing this past week of long time NCAA president Myles Brand, everyone involved in the NCAA from the players to the coaches to the administrators all should take a moment to pause and give their own personal thanks to Brand whose body of work did so much for the development of the cash cow that is the NCAA. Myles Brand will certainly be missed.

After our own moment of silence;
we do like the following games against the spread:
P4P’s College football picks for Saturday, September 19th

Clemson -7 over Boston College
This is no longer the BC Eagles team that had BJ Raji and Matt Ryan. This BC team is just a shadow of its former self despite their 2-0. Look for Clemson to use its strong running attack and speed to control the game. BC’s QB will be making his first road start, in SEC country. Good luck Son! We look for Clemson to wear out BC.

Arizona +4 over Iowa
Arizona goes on the road to face Iowa and this looks like a great spot for the Wildcats. With Penn State up next on the schedule for the Hawkeyes, they mat be looking a little past Arizona. Look for Arizona’s lines to dominate the game and keep this close the entire way.

Utah +5 over Oregon
Can anyone tell me why the team with the longest current winning streak in college football is an underdog? Utah is 18-5 as an underdog while Oregon is an absolute mess since losing Mike Bellotti as its head coach. Oregon’s defense didn’t even bother to show up last week. Chip Kelly, things were a little easier as the offensive coordinator at New Hampshire, good luck keeping things together in Nike country. This won’t easy but 5 points is too many here.

Washington +19 over USC
Some great trends here which favor Washington. Under Pete Carroll USC is 1-6 in Pac 10 road openers. Last year after the Ohio St win, USC traveled to Oregon State and lost. This year they travel to a fired up Husky Stadium, and new U-Dub Head Coach Steve Sarkisian knows USC inside and out. Aaron Corp making his first start for USC on the road could provide some shaky moments and short field opportunities for Jake Locker. Finally, Pete Carroll will not run up the score on his friend.

Auburn -7 over West Virginia
Huge revenge game for the underrated Auburn Tigers. They have a good offense facing a banged up Mountaineer defense. The West Virginia QB will be making his first road start. Your team at P4P likes Auburn, big.

Florida -29 over Tennessee
Florida has covered the spread in 18 of the last 22 games. I think we know how badly Urban Meyer wants to introduce smart alec Lane Kiffin to SEC football. Kiffin popped off during the hiring process and now should feel the brunt of a swift a$$ kicking from the Urban and Tebow show.

Baylor -10 over Connecticutt
Baylor is flying under the radar in this one with an offense that has shown to be very good in the early season. This is a big revenge game for the Bears and they had 2 weeks to get ready for it. Uconn’s offense has sputtered early on and will be starting a QB making his first road start.

Arkansas -2 over Georgia
Again, another team flying under the radar. Arkansas returns 17 starters and is facing a Bulldog defense that has given up 36 points per game in 5 of the last 8 games.

Texas -18 over Texas Tech
Talk about revenge! Texas Tech ruined Texas’ championship hopes last year and add to that Mike Leach voted for Oklahoma over Texas in the final poll. The Tech defense is horrrrible giving up over 47 points per game on the road. Colt McCoy becomes the Heisman frontrunner after this one. Hook ‘Em Horns by at least 3 touchdowns, and at least some of our staff like OVER 66.
