Illinois -3 over Northwestern
The first of 4 bowl eligible games we will play. Look for Illinois to make up for an inconsistent season by pounding a disinterested Wildcat squad. With Northwestern already bowl eligible, Illinois should come out and play 60 minutes this week. What are you going to do Juice? This is supposed to be your time to shine.
Stanford +9 vs California
Again, Stanford is trying to become bowl eligible in this West Coast rivalry match-up. This is Stanford’s super bowl in trying to extend their season. With Cal already qualifying for a bowl and coming off two tough losses, look for them to be tired this week. The Bears may get the Axe, but look for Stanford to easily cover the number while the Bears work hard to give this Big Game away in typi-CAL fashion.
Virginia +2 vs Clemson
With a win, Virginia will get a crack at a bowl so we see them playing 60 minutes of tough football with the home crowd behind them. This will be tight the whole way with a late FG perhaps the decider.
Hawaii -23 over Idaho
Believe it or not, Hawaii will be in a bowl with a win. The home crowd should propel them to cover against a weak Idaho team. These aren’t the Rainbow Warriors of June Jones and Colt Brennan, but what a great way to start a new era of Hawaii football by qualifying for a bowl game.
Maryland +1 1/2 vs Florida St.
Maryland has won every home game this year, and we see that trend continuing.
Vanderbilt -3 over Tennessee
Tennessee has thrown in the towel if the loss to Wyoming was any indication. Phillip Fulmer, thanks for all the memories.
Tulsa -28 1/2 over Tulane
Look for a big rebound from Tulsa this week, after giving up 70 points to Houston last week. Tulsa may score 75 just to try to erase the memory.
Oklahoma -7 over Texas Tech
Game of The Week. Oklahoma is too deep and with the home crowd should win this shootout. The shootout may not be as high a scoring affair as most people think, but we still see a shootout, just below the 76 total. Look to take the UNDER in this one as well.
Penn St. -14 1/2 over Michigan St.
Penn St. can stop the run, so when Michigan St. has to throw, look for some picks and short fields for the Penn St. offense who will be smelling Roses after this one. Penn State should dominate this from the outset and not stop scoring until they get to Pasadena. Michigan State can’t wait to leave Un-Happy Valley.
Mississippi +3 vs LSU
Ol’ Miss is better than people think and LSU is worse than people think. Simply stated, take Ole Miss and the points, although, they could win this one outright.
Ohio St -20 over Michigan
We would love to take Michigan here but with a backup QB and poor offensive play for most of the year we just don’t like their chances. Things have unraveled in Ann Arbor and this outgoing group of seniors with no loyalty to Rich Rodriguez will lay a jumbo egg in this game at the Horseshoe. Ohio State will roll.
That’s all for now. Please check back throughout the day for any updates and new information. Also, as always, check in with us every Sunday morning for a cup of our NFL coffee. Good luck. play wise, play smart, play on, Player!
