Monday Night is here!!! Pittsburgh hosts Baltimore

September 29, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

Pittsburgh hosts Baltimore tonight and the line is Steelers -6This match up should be an all out slug-fest tonight.  Big Ben was assaulted in the pocket last week by Philly and look for Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, and company to continue to bring the heat.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are no punks though and they will rise to the challenge blow for blow with the Ravens.  Joe Flacco’s NFL education continues on the road this week on the soon to be named ‘Curt Schilling Ketchup Sock Turf’ of Heinz Field.  We expect a game of many 5-6 minute drives and a whole lot of field goals.  Both offenses will mange their possessions wisely but the absence of Willie Parker will hurt the Steelers a little.  They will most likely win the game, but against the spread, www.Picks4Players.com likes a very close game.  Our selection: Baltimore +6

Good luck to all and have a great week.  Please check back in with us throughout the week and always stop by on www.Picks4Players.com Office Poolooza Thursday every week of the football season.

P4P NFL Week 4 Picks, Get us while we’re hot……….

September 28, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

After going an impressive 8-3 on College Football Saturday yesterday, the team here at www.Picks4Players.com is fired up for another Sunday of great NFL entertainment.  We’ve searched high and low, and we’ve dug down deep to identify the cream of the NFL opportunities that will help you, the Player, rise to the top this weekend.  With that being babbled, err, said, here we go with today’s recommendations from Picks4Players.com

Washington @ Dallas, 4:15pm est
Current Line: Dallas -11
Dallas is coming off back to back games in which they had to play with emotion.  This sets up as a big letdown game for the ‘Boyz.
Washington seems to be improving each week and has covered 5 of the
last 6 in the series.  Our Pick: Wash +11

San Diego @ Oakland, 4:05pm est
Current Line: San Diego -9
This line has climbed all week and with good reason.  The San Diego
offense is rolling and Oakland is just rolling in its own slop.  The Raiders D-line is banged up with only 2 healthy players.  Look for LT to run for big yardage and the Bolts to roll.                                                  OUR SELECTION:  San Diego -9

Minnesota @ Tennessee, 1pm est
Current Line: Over/Under 35 1/2
This game shapes up as a battle of who can do better in the run game. Both teams run well and have trouble in the passing game and both defend the run very well.  Final score 13-10.               Our pick:Under 35 1/2

San Francisco @ New Orleans, 1pm est
Current Line: NO -5
This game should be an offensive explosion but the 49ers bring the
better defense to this game and will keep it close to the end.  A late FG will decide this one.  Our Pick(s): SF +5 and over 48

Other games that caught our eye:

Denver @ KC, 1pm est
Current Line: Denver -9
Our Pick: Denver -9

Atlanta @ Carolina, 1pm est
Current Line: Carolina -6 1/2
Our Pick: Carolina -6 1/2

Houston @ Jacksonville, 1pm est
Current Line: Jax -7
Our Pick: Houston +7
As we say with most every post, play smart, play wisely, play on, player.  As always, good luck from your personal gaming consultants at www.Picks4Players.com

College Football Saturday Specials 4 September 27th, 2008

September 26, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

Saturdays in the Fall are some of the best days ever.  College football is in full swing and there is one thing for certain, there will be way too much underage drinking before 12 noon tomorrow.  Pace yourselves young bucks and enjoy your favorite school’s best attempt at the ‘old college try’.  Stay hydrated and remember before you pass out later tonight, take a couple of Advil or Aleve along with two 8 oz glasses of water and you’ll be ready to rally on Sunday faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

The team here at www.Picks4Players.com loves the menu of college action this weekend with several underdogs that could rise up and surprise on the money line and then we like several Top 10 teams that will be looking to make a good impression on voters this weekend after the egg that USC laid up in Corvallis, Oregon on Thursday.

To try to keep some sense of order in selecting winners today we’re presenting them to you in a new format that we’re trying out this weekend only.  We’ll start with favorites we like to cover, then underdogs that should cover and could rise up on the money line and win outright.  Finally, we’ll give you a few other recommendations that we like on the Saturday slate.  please keep the feedback coming as it helps us grow and develop the site to better serve our loyal customers, the true Players.  Have a profitable Saturday.

Oklahoma -18 vs. TCU:  TCU has been outstanding thus far and they will challenge the Sooners a bit early, but look for Bob Stoops and company to roll in the second half as they seize the opportunity left by USC’s embarrassing performance as the nation’s former #1 team.  Picks4Players.com recommends OKLAHOMA -18

Penn State -15 1/2 vs. Illinois:  After all of our research and evaluation, the team here at P4P loves this game.  Illinois will bring their young defense into a raucous Saturday night in Happy Valley and a fired up Penn State squad seeking revenge from their last meeting with Illinois.  Joe Pa isn’t messing around anymore and he clearly has decided to look the other way so his staff can compete in recruiting ‘blue chippers.’  This current band of Nittany Lions plays with more attitude and more swagger than most Penn State teams of the past.  Look for a highly emotional, all clad in white Penn State squad to score early and often and rout Illinois.  Picks4Players.com likes Penn State -15 1/2

Other favorites we expect to cover:

Michigan State -8 @ Indiana

Nebraska -7 over Virginia Tech

Ohio State - 19  vs. Minnesota

UNDERDOGS WE EXPECT TO COVER THE SPREAD AND POSSIBLY WIN OUTRIGHT:

ALABAMA + 6 1/2 @ GEORGIA   (THIS IS +210 ON THE MONEY LINE)

TENNESSEE + 6 1/2 @AUBURN  (THIS IS + 220 ON THE MONEY LINE)  A few things jumped out at us regarding the Phillip Fulmer led Tennessee Volunteers.  Did you know that following a loss, Tennessee has covered 16 out of their last 18 games, but even more impressive than that is after playing Florida, Tennessee is undefeated the next week under Coach Fulmer.  We like Tennessee to cover and an outright win would not shock us.

Michigan + 5 1/2 vs. Wisconsin  (This game is + 190 on the Money line)  While Michigan continues to struggle in Rich Rodriguez’s first season at the helm, the one thing that this group of Wolverines does well is stop the run.  The only thing that Wisconsin seems to be able to do on a consistent basis is run the ball.  Something has to give and this week it will be Wisconsin.  Rodriguez will have his troops fired up, the Big House will be rocking, and Michigan will keep this close the entire way and don’t be surprised if they win it with a field goal as time expires.

Other games that piqued our interest and we feel comfortable recommending:

Mississippi +23 @ Florida

Colorado State + 26 1/2 @California   The Bears just don’t blow too many teams out at home and in typi-CAL fashion, this one will be closer than it should be.

Ball State -20 vs. Kent   Ball State has a nice offense and Kent is very proficient at giving up lots of yards and points.  This one won’t be close.

UNLV -4 vs. Nevada   In this battle of the Silver State look for UNLV to take advantage of a depleted Nevada squad.  The Wolfpack are missing their two top running backs and that will render them as a one dimensional, pass only team.  Look for the Rebels to pin their ears back and apply pressure to the quarterback all day.  We like UNLV -4.

That’s all for this College Football Saturday.  Have fun, be careful, play wise, play smart.  Play on player.  Sincerely,

Your personal gaming consultants at www.Picks4Players.com

College Football Free Play for Tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September 25, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

This weekend’s College Football action kicks off tonight with two games, but the one we’re interested in is #1 in the nation USC traveling to Corvallis, Oregon to take on the struggling Oregon State Beavers tonight at 9 pm EST on ESPN.  USC is a 25 point road favorite which would normally make one pause and say, ‘wow that’s a lot of points to any team playing at home,’ but not in this case.  USC was upset by OSU in Corvallis two years ago and there is definitely revenge on their minds.  Pete Carroll has spoken about it throughout the week and this USC team, explosive on both sides of the ball, will open up on the Beavers tonight.  USC will score at least 45 points tonight and Oregon State will be left licking their wounds.  Picks4Players recommends USC TROJANS -25, and you may want to consider OVER 52 1/2.

Best of luck and play wisely.

Office Poolooza Thursday; September 25th, 2008

September 25, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

After a lackluster (by our standards) week 1 performance in Picks4Players.com Office Poolooza where we finished 9-7, the team here at Picks4Players bounced back with a much more respectable 10-6 record.  We expect to improve on that again this week and look for a steady improvement from week to week and in no week will we fall below the .500 mark.  On every level of handicapping thus far in the history of Picks4Players.com, we have had a positive week of handicapping.  We try very hard to evaluate each of our selections with the eye of a diamond cutter, but handicapping contains many more variables than cutting diamonds.  Our precision revolves around our passion for the research that we do, for you, the player.  We hope that everyone is having an excellent week and looking forward to the start of another outstanding football weekend beginning with some college tonight, Thursday September 25th, 2008 (please see our post that will be out shortly with our free college play for one of tonight’s games.

On to Office Poolooza Thursday recommendations from your teammates at www.Picks4Players.com for this weekend’s NFL winners:

Denver

Cincinatti

Jacksonville

Arizona

New Orleans

Carolina

Tennessee

Tampa Bay

Buffalo

San Diego

Dallas

Philadelphia

Pittsburgh

We will report back with results in next Thursday’s edition of www.Picks4Players.com Office Poolooza.  For now, we wish everyone an outstanding remainder of the week and an even better and profitable weekend.

National Football League Week #3, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!!!!!!

September 21, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

Greetings Players,

Thanks for tuning in again to www.Picks4Players.com  for another Sunday of NFL action.  Our goal has always been to stay steady and solid while looking for opportunities for you, the player, to profit.  As noted in an earlier posting on this site, the team at www.Picks4Players.com is atop the leader board of the 29th annual National Handicapper’s Bowl which specifically calculates NFL selections against the spread (ATS).  Picks4Players looks to have another outstanding week and we like the opportunities on the board today.  Without further adieu, the following are P4Ps recommended plays for Sunday September 21st, 2008:

TB @ Chi
Current Line: Chi -3
Chicago’s run game and defense should be too much for an injury riddled
TB offense missing Jeff Garcia and Joey Galloway. Here’s a stat that
sways us to like Chicago. When TB plays a non-divisional opponent on
the road after a win they are 0-14 ATS. Take that to the bank.  P4P pick: Chicago -3

Carolina @ Minnesota
Current Line: Minn -3 1/2
It is well documented that Carolina is one of the best road teams ATS
in the NFL. But here is an amazing stat, Carolina has covered 20
straight on the road against teams with a sub .500 record. With
Peterson questionable Gus Frerotte starting at QB and a suspect
passing game, we think this is too much for the Vikings to overcome.
Look for the return of Steve Smith to bolster the Carolina passing
attack. We like this game as a Carolina outright winner, but to be
safe Picks4Players Picks: Carolina +3 1/2

Dallas @ Green Bay
Current Line: Dal -3
Green Bay is the only home team not favored this week. Dallas is
coming off a big Monday night victory and now has a short week to get
ready for GB. Green Bay is flying under the radar. Did you know that
the Packers have won 20 of their last 24 games? Dallas has never won at Lambeau Field, a
trend that can’t be ignored. P4P Pick: Green Bay +3

Detroit @ San Francisco
Current Line: SF -4 1/2
Detroit never travels well out west and after last week’s big comeback
and subsequent collapse, we see more west coast woes for the Lions.
Look for the 49ers balanced attack to work this into a runaway in the
second half.  Picks4Players recommends:  San Francisco -4 1/2

OTHER GAMES ON THE MENU WITH MONEY MAKING POTENTIAL:

New England -12.5- Look for New England to roll over the gum flapping ‘Phins.

Houston +4 1/2 - Houston a desperate group, Tenn not good as home favorite.

Denver -5 1/2 - New Orleans has injury issues and Denver looks really good in the early going.  This game should be a lot of fun to watch as we also recommend OVER 51

Jacksonville +5- Indy is without their left tackle and Bob Sanders is out as well. This could be an ugly slug fest that winds up being won by a late field goal.

Baltimore -2 - Cleve is really banged up at WR and we just have a bad vibe about
them right now.

Enjoy another great Sunday of entertainment with the National Football League. As always, play wisely and with caution. Good Luck!!!!

College Football Saturday- Week # 4

September 20, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

As we kick off another CFB Saturday here at Picks4Players.com, the team is salivating at the opportunities that show up on this weekend’s menu.  The menu changes from week to week, but if you look deep enough into the ingredients of the teams playing one another, then for the wise player, opportunity screams out at you.

as a side note: Picks4Players has recommended 38 different selections regarding NCAA College Football Action.  Our record in those games stands at 26-11-1.  That being said, let’s get on with the selections for Saturday September 20th, 2008.

Alabama @ Arkansas:  Line Alabama -8 1/2:  Nick Saban is back in his comfort zone and he has his ‘Bama squad a little ahead of even his lofty expectations.  Going on the road is always an extra challenge and the Razorbacks won’t just roll over and quit.  Alabama will handle the tough environment with flying colors and by the midway point of the 2nd quarter the majority of Razorback nation will resort to their favorite activity, drinking moonshine out of old Ketchup bottles.  Our selection:  We’ll have shots of that moonshine and Alabama - 8 1/2.

Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss: Line is Ole Miss -7:  Vanderbilt has covered 9 of last 10 on the road and Mississippi has lost 7 consecutive SEC home openers.  We expect Ole Miss to break that streat, but it won’t be easy against a tough Vandy team.  Our Choice: Vanderbilt +7

BYU hosts Wyoming:  Line is BYU - 27 1/2:  After the Cougars total demolition of UCLA last weekend in Provo, it’s hard to imagine a scuffling Wyoming Cowboy team faring much better.  You used to be able to count on Wyoming as a home favorite that always struggled on the road.  It was just one of those tough places to play.  Not the case anymore as over the last 18 games, Wyoming is 2-16 ATS. Ouch!  The road woes continue today as we like BYU to win by 42+ points.  Our selection: BYU -27 1/2

North Carolina hosts Virginia Tech:  Line is UNC -3:  The team at Picks4Players.comhas a very strong feeling about this game.  As the saying goes, this is not your father’s Va Tech team with Michael and Marcus, the con-Vick-t brothers, at QB, playmakers everywhere and special teams execution that would change games.  This Va Tech team is just too young and going into Chappel Hill with a fan base fired up to have a winning football team, this one will be extremely challenging to the Hokies.  When you factor in that UNC has just too much offense for Virgina Tech today, we recommend: North Carolina -3

Other games that Picks4Players.com recommends:

Wake Forest + 4 1/2 @ Florida State:  Wake is 8-2 ATS on the road in the ACC.  This game will come down to a field goal so take Wake and the points.

Utah -9  vs Air Force:  Utah is seeking to avenge a loss in their last meeting so you can bank on the Utes being fired up for this home game.  After getting out to an early lead last week against Houston, Air Force struggled to stop Houston in the 2nd half and barely hung on for the win.  Utah will attack through the air early and get a 2-3 touchdwon lead and Air Force will struggle to catch up all day.  Air Force has only completed 3 passes all season.  Good luck catching up.

Troy +20 @ Ohio State:  Troy covered 5 out of 7 versus ranked teams and Ohio State may be looking past this one to next week’s Big 10 opener.

Iowa St. +2 @ UNLV:

San Jose State + 8 @ Stanford

Arizona -3 @ UCLA

Best of luck to all this weekend.  We hope this is yet another positive and profitable Saturday that propels an NFL Sunday of wagering with house money.  We’ve posted 10 selections today.  Please play wisely and proceed with care and caution.

P4P remains atop National Handicappers Bowl standings

September 20, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

The crew here at Picks4Players.com had another solid, positive week in the 29th annual National Handicapper’s Bowl, which is affiliated with Pro Football Weekly.  With two weeks now in the books for the NFL season and the National Handicapper’s Bowl, the rookies (to this event) at Picks4Players.com are sitting atop the standings for games selected against the spread (ATS).

As our teammate G$ said in the official announcement of our invitation and participation in this event, “…we’re in it to win it.”  We know one thing for sure, the caliber of the competition participating in the NHB is no joke.  These are companies and individuals who take this very seriously and commit the resources and research to finding winners.  We, here at Picks4Players.com, are proud to be participating and we will continue to work hard to protect the lead, stay in the hunt, and represent you, our constituents, in a way that will make each and every one of you proud and profitable.

All the best, and good luck towards another succesful weekend for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please check back at 11 am EST on Saturday for our College Selections and then again at 11:30 am EST on Sundays for the National Football League.

The Squad at Picks4Players.com

Picks4Players Thursday Office Poolooza Week #2

September 18, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

So you would think that as hot as Picks4Players has been since the start of the football season that picking winners staright up would be a slam dunk.  Well as our 9-7 record in Week 1 of Office Poolooza indicates, things don’t always work out as expected.  That’s why they play the games.

This week the team at Picks4Players.com, after applying our patented handicapping technology to this weekend’s slate of games, feel very confident that we will rebound this week.  That being said, we have never had a week below the .500 mark (knock on wood) and our overall record for all games posted and recommended is 40-19-2.  That is something that you could’ve taken to the bank.  As they say, however, past performance is no indicator of future value, but you can trust that the squad at Picks4Players will keep working hard for you, the player.

This weeks NFL winners:

Atlanta

Buffalo

Tennessee

Giants

Cardinals

Patriots

Bears

Panthers

Seahawks

49ers

Broncos

Eagles

Colts

Ravens

Packers

Chargers

Keep checking back throughout the week as we get primed for another outstanding weekend of American Football.  As always, play wise, play smart, have fun, do the right thing, wwjd?, keep it real, and good luck!

Monday Night Football and a Week # 2 recap

September 15, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

What a weekend in the NFL.  Exciting game after exciting game.  DirecTV and the NFL Sunday ticket is awesome, although, what was up with no HiDef this weekend?  What’s up with that?  The Chargers got hosed but Shanahan, you showed me something going for two.  Way to sack up, Meat.  Indy, way to come alive when it mattered.  The 49ers and Raiders even looked respectable.  The NFL is pure entertainment.

This past weekend Picks4Players continues its’ winning ways.  In games that we recommended this past weekend, our record ATS was 11-5-1 in college and 4-2-1 in the NFL.  If you’re staying with us, you are still playing with house money.  We feel very strongly about tonight’s game.

Philadelphia visits Dallas tonight in a classic NFC East throw down.  Both teams are as strong as they’ve been in quite some time.  look for Philly to pressure Jessica Romo tonight and Asante Samuel should get at least one, maybe two picks for scores.  T.O., we’ve got our Popcorn ready, so please put on a show and light up the scoreboard in a losing effort.  Andy Ried has an outstanding record against Dallas and they will show up tonight ready to win.  Look for DeSean Jackson to have a big night and Westbrook and Donovan will be rock solid.  We expect an Eagle win, but that’s always tough in the NFL so Picks4Players.com likes Philadelphia +6 1/2 and OVER 46 1/2.
