***SUNDAY SPECIAL*** COLLEGE FOOTBALL PARLAY

August 31, 2008 by Crit Dahippo · Leave a Comment

With the NFL taking over Sundays for the next 5 months the NCAA is capitalizing and playing two games on Sunday August 31st.

In the Bluegrass bowl Kentucky visits Louisville.  The line is Louisville -3 with an OVER/UNDER total of 55 1/2.

The second game of the day is Colorado vs. Colorado State at Invesco Field in Denver.  The line is Colorado -11 with an OVER/UNDER total of 56.

Picks4Players and handicapper Crit Dahippo like this as a 3 pick parlay:

Kentucky +3, Kentucky-Louisville OVER 55 1/2, to Colorado -11.

Play with caution and responsibility.  These opinions and selections are for amusement and entertainment purposes only.

After the first College Football Saturday of the 2008 season Picks4Players posted an impressive 5-1 record against the spread.

The winners included: Florida, Boston College, Missouri, Northwestern, and OVER 41 1/2 in the Utah-Michigan game.

The lone missed selection was USC-Virginia Under 42 1/2. USC’s defense was as advertised but the offense capitalized on three short field opportunities in the first quarter and kept rolling.

Crit’s selection specials for Saturday August 30th, 2008

Florida -34 1/2 over Hawaii:  Florida will roll.  Hawaii is always a completely different team on the road and now add in a new coaching staff and no Colt Brennan.  Look for Florida to score at least 49 points.

Michigan vs Utah OVER 40 1/2: Rich Rodriguez will definitely be looking to make a good first impression at the Big House.  There may be some early jitters and mistakes, but this game will be close to the over at half time and will come through by the end of the 3rd quarter.

USC vs Virginia  UNDER 42 1/2: USC’s defense is too good and in this game they may pitch a shutout.  Look for the Trojans to dominate on the road.  The offense may struggle at times as this one will stay below the number.

Northwestern -12 over Syracuse:  Look for Northwestern to fly out of the gates offensively and not look back today.  They’ll blow out the Orangemen by at least 3 touchdowns today in Chicago.

Boston College -10 over Kent:  This game is being played in an NFL venue, the Browns Stadium in Cleveland.  While the crowd may be rooting for Kent, Coach Jag will have the Eagles flying high with the players buying into the dream of someday returning to this stadium, or others like it, as an NFL player playing on Sundays.  No home field advantage here.  The Eagles will soar.

Missouri -9 over Illinois:  Another game being played at an NFL venue, the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.  This will be a significant home field edge for Mizzou. Look for the Tigers to sputter a bit early as they deal with some opening night, national TV butterflies, but Chase Daniel will lead his squad to a double digit victory.
